Educational Programmes

IRI is regularly conducting technical lectures, workshops, short term courses on Rubber Science & Technology besides seminars and conferences in association with Universities/institutes and professional bodies like AIRIA, Rubber Board, CII. Senior members of IRI are acting as Visiting Faculty in different educational institutes/universities engaged in rubber science & technology. In this regard, IRI has signed several MoUs with IITs/Universities/Rubber Board/Polytechnics.

Indian Institute Of Technology, Kharagpur

On 28 January, 2009 a new MOU was signed with the Rubber Technology Centre, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur to continue to conduct Examinations of DIRI and PGDIRI with independent control and supervision.

Mohan Lal Sukhadia University (MLSU), Udaipur

The IRI is working as an interface between industry and academia. An M.Sc. course on Polymer Science & Rubber Technology is jointly conducted by IRI, Rajasthan Branch, HASETRI and Mohanlal Sukhadia University of Udaipur.

Rubber Board (Government Of India)

On 29 July 2010, a MOU was signed with the Rubber Board of India, a statutory body constituted by the Government of India under Rubber Act 1947 (Act XXIV of 1947), Kottayam (Kerala) for conducting collaborative training programmes in human resource development for the rubber industry and the IRI has been jointly organising such programmes at regular intervals.

Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic

Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic Udaipur is running a Post Graduate Diploma Course in Rubber Technology for Diploma Engineers, jointly with the IRI, Rajasthan Branch, JK Tyre and HASETRI.

University of Calcutta

In May 2013, a MOU was signed with the Department of Plastics and Rubber Technology, Calcutta University. As per this agreement, Calcutta University will provide space at their premises to the IRI to establish a testing laboratory and organise training programmes. A revised MOU was signed on 28 March, 2014 between the Registrar, Calcutta University and the Chairman IRI in the presence of Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

Besides above, regular weekly training classes on Rubber Science and Technology for DIRI/PGDIRI students are conducted at eight branches in association with selected universities, institutes and rubber industry companies. The IRI also conducts annual intensive courses for DIRI/PGDIRI students (National Crash Courses) and short term modular courses tailor made to suit the concerned industry or end users of rubber product. Two such national courses are organized every year in Western India coordinated by IRI Rajasthan Branch (covering Rajasthan, Delhi & Mumbai Region) and Southern India coordinated by Karnataka Branch (covering Karnataka, Kerala & Chennai). Modular courses are also conducted at the Industry’s premises to help them get improved performance and educate them in trouble shooting that will help them in their productivity, particularly for their maintenance, production and purchase executives.
